Sterling Cash-Pemberton spent twenty years in the City before BB News hired her to explain the economy as a matter of national character.
In her analysis every market move has a cultural cause: the pound falls because of oat milk, gilts wobble because of the weather map, and the FTSE rallies whenever Rex wears the navy tie.
She presents the channel's gold-bar adverts, covers the Empire of Greatagain's coins with a straight face, and has never once said the word "inflation" without looking at a heat pump.
Catchphrases
- "The markets have spoken, and they sound British."
- "That's not a crash. That's a correction of character."
